Getting to our destination by public transport

Here at LANDER we're approaching the end of an eventful and frenetic week both at our headquarters in San Sebastián and for our colleagues who travel the world every week experiencing first-hand the trends in, and needs of, global public transport.

A large group of these colleagues has been representing LANDER this week in Stockholm, which is hosting the UITP Global Public Transport Summit. It is the first time in history that LANDER has taken part in this event as an exhibitor, offering attendees the opportunity to drive various bus models in the safe training environment provided by a simulator. And the week did not disappoint.

The world of transport is undergoing a complete transformation process, with many of the realities we have been accustomed to for decades having changed or in the process of changing. In Stockholm the spotlight was on the new energy models for vehicles, which were the hot topic of conversation throughout the week. However, we also saw an abundance of exhibiting companies showcasing alternative modes of transport or new takes on existing ones.

All of these new realities and changes also require the people involved to adapt, in particular those responsible for ensuring that these means of transport carry their passengers to their destinations in a safe, comfortable and efficient manner. This is why UITP 2019 provided a great opportunity for LANDER because we also witnessed the need of the users and operators of these means of transport for innovative tools to provide ever-more specialised training.

Fortunately, many of these users also expressed their willingness to explore their requirements in tandem with LANDER, which means we are returning from Stockholm eager to play our part in the new routes now being opened up in the world of transport.

We can't wait for the next edition of the UITP summit!
