SMRT Singapore and Lander Simulation sign a new contract

SMRT and Lander Simulation have recently signed an agreement for the supply of a simulator system for the fully automated and driverless Circle Line. The line has a length of 35.5 Km, 30 operational stations and a yearly ridership of about 160 million.

The new custom-built training suite will consist of a full cab simulator, several compact simulators, two Multi Function Terminal (MFT) simulators and two instructor stations. The multi-player system will allow conducting the training of all driving cabs and the MFT simulators simultaneously, sharing the same scenarios and cohabiting in the same virtual environment. The flexible nature of the system will provide SMRT a huge amount of training possibilities. In addition, the contract includes a provision of 3 years full maintenance service.

SMRT and Lander project teams have already held several meetings in Singapore and Spain for the kick off and final specification of the project. The simulator system is currently at the development stage and it is expected to be installed in Kim Chuan depot in 2019. The new simulator facility will allow SMRT to train their drivers and station operational staff with the most advanced simulation technology in the market with the objective of improving the efficiency and safety of the operation.

This project is another important step in Lander´s consolidation in ASIAN region.
