10 years growing together: the case of RNV

The story between LANDER and RNV is a clear example of how innovation, trust, and a shared vision can transform training in railway transport.

Over the years, they have committed to progress, innovation, and improving the training experience for their team. And on that journey, we’ve had the privilege of accompanying them.

FahrSim1 – The Beginning of It All

It was in 2016 when RNV placed their trust in Lander to take a step forward in their training. Through a public tender, they chose us to develop their first tram simulator.

That yes not only marked the beginning of our presence in Germany, but also the start of a relationship that continues to grow years later.

A year later, in 2017, we installed three RNV6 model simulators, with a 3-screen visual system. A robust, effective, and tailored solution that represented a qualitative leap in training, with 35 km of the cities of Mannheim Heidelberg and Ludwigshafen.

Beyond the technical aspects, this first project was key to establishing a solid relationship, allowing us to demonstrate our technical capabilities and commitment.

FahrSim2 – A Step Further

In September 2020, RNV reaffirmed its trust in Lander to continue advancing its training.

The result: two new tram simulators.

Installed in 2023, and equipped with a 7-vertical-screen visual system, they marked a turning point in user experience—making it more immersive and realistic. Additionally, we incorporated new technologies that took simulation to another level:

  • Eye-tracking technology
  • More kilometers of real routes
  • A leap in visual quality

We also added new incidents to enrich the learning experience, such as:

  • Track and signaling incidents, including animated targets
  • Passenger-related situations, like a person appearing near the track at a stop
  • Pedestrians crossing the tracks with obstructed visibility
  • Depot-related incidents

This evolution not only enhances training but also demonstrates our ongoing commitment to improving and offering increasingly immersive solutions.

Simbio – A New Horizon

Following the success of the tram simulation classroom, RNV has decided to take another step by also investing in bus simulator training. In December 2025, two new bus simulators will be installed in Mannheim for RNV.

Thanks to RNV’s focus and trust, Lander’s railway simulation is now also present in cities like Leipzig, Duisburg, and Bremen.

From Lander, we are grateful to be part of your journey.
