The ANTP of Mexico unveils its truck simulator in a mobile classroom

The National Association of Private Transport (ANTP), together with its partner MAF, inaugurated before the press and authorities the truck simulator that will be transported throughout the Mexican Republic in a Freightliner Cascadia truck.

The aim is to provide a simulator with state-of-the-art technology to the freight transport companies that require one, bringing it to their own facilities.

Heineken's premises in Monterrey were chosen for the gala.

Its vice president for Mexico, Mr Javier Francisco Garza, said that this ANTP initiative is in line with Heineken's philosophy of promoting road safety, and helps to improve the good results obtained by the beer company in the last seven years, in which it has managed to reduce the accident rate by 91%.

The national president of the ANTP, Mr Alex Theissen, stressed that the simulator will help to professionalise the training of truck drivers, which will contribute to improving the image of the freight transport sector in the country and make it more highly valued by society. Not only is it expected to improve the sector's image, but also to improve the accident rates caused by human error thanks to the simulator training.

The general manager of MAF (the company that has made this project possible), Ms Ángeles Fromow and her sales team presented the benefits of the Lander truck simulator:

The instructor's workstation software has a powerful, open source, and flexible exercise editor, exclusive to the LANDER brand, which makes it possible to create customised training plans for each company with complete autonomy.

The open source exercise editor allows the instructor to carry out an initial evaluation of the drivers and, based on the results obtained, create specific exercises, and update them according to the specific needs of each group of drivers.

The simulator includes real vehicles and their trailers developed with the manufacturer's data sheet, from rigid, articulated, and double-trailer trucks, all of them reflecting the vehicle fleet of the ANTP’s members, as well as the main truck manufacturers in Mexico (Freightliner, Kenworth, Scania, Volkswagen, Hino, and Isuzu, among others).

In the driver's seat, we have included real levers and buttons typically found in American vehicles, as well as the real display present in each of the vehicles, in order to increase realism and immersion during the simulation.

We wish the ANTP and MAF success in their project, as their success will contribute to the improvement of road safety in Mexico, whose strategic location and the logistics platform it provides, is decisive for the proper movement of goods to and from the American continent.
