Duisburg and DVG invite LANDER to the Ruhrgebiet

There are regions in the world that have a unique personality. Whether because of their history, their nature, or other factors, there are places on the planet whose name resonates in a special way. The Ruhr region (commonly known as the Ruhrgebiet in German) is one of them. Mainly because it is one of the most populated metropolitan regions in Europe and because it is an industrial, technological, and university hub in Europe. A region that has been able to evolve and adapt to the changing times.

It is also a very special region for LANDER. In January last year, when we launched our tramway project in Leipzig, we wrote about the journey that our company began years ago in the German-speaking countries. And above all, we wrote about the trust that many people have placed in LANDER over the years, which has allowed us to enjoy unparalleled experiences and to create world-leading simulation systems together. Many of these people are located in Duisburg, the city that became the starting point of our business activities after the start of our first project for rnv.

In addition to that first project with rnv in Mannheim, was Duisburg, and specifically its transport operator DVG, where we were first able to start sitting down with operators across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to understand what their training needs were. This also allowed us to learn what problems they needed to solve and felt they could solve through the use of simulators, and, in general, how we could work together to create training tools that would improve transport in those countries.

Years later, those first conversations with DVG have borne their first fruit. Today we can confirm that DVG and LANDER are embarking on the creation of a tram-train simulation system for the entire Duisburg track network and for its two most iconic vehicles, one of which is in the process of being designed and manufactured.

We are proud to be invited to the Ruhrgebiet by DVG and Duisburg, but above all we are proud to join a team of people who have expressed their enthusiasm for this project and a desire to create something significant with it. We would therefore like to thank them for their trust and assure them that our team will work tirelessly so that, together, we can help to further optimise and professionalise transport in Duisburg.
